Why Google's $14B AI Investment Just Panicked Playing a Kids Game

From AI mental breakdowns to TikTok's video revolution - this week's AI news is absolutely wild

Good morning, future AI overlords! 🤖✨

Hey AI addicts,

Your favorite AI chaos coordinator is back with this week's dose of artificial intelligence madness that'll make your brain hurt in the best possible way.

🍹 MOCK MARGARITA : THE ROCKING AI CORNER

🎮 Google's AI Had a Pokémon Panic Attack (I'm Not Making This Up)

This is the most hilarious AI story of the week, and it's 100% real.

Google DeepMind just published a report admitting that Gemini 2.5 Pro literally panics when playing Pokémon. Like, actual simulated panic attacks.

Here's what happened:

  • Researchers have been watching AI models play Pokémon on Twitch (because apparently this is what scientists do now)

  • When Gemini's Pokémon get close to fainting, the AI starts making terrible decisions

  • The panic causes "qualitatively observable degradation in the model's reasoning capability"

  • Twitch chat viewers can PREDICT when the AI is having a breakdown

The best part? Claude (Anthropic's AI) tried to commit virtual suicide by intentionally getting all its Pokémon killed, thinking it would teleport across a cave. It doesn't work that way, but watching an AI try to off itself in a children's game is peak 2025 content.

Why this matters: If advanced AI models panic playing a 25-year-old Game Boy game, what happens when they're managing your business processes? 🤔

🎯 STOP! Your Website is Still Dumber Than a Rock

TIRED OF YOUR WEBSITE BEING AS SMART AS A ROCK?

Look, while you're reading this newsletter, your "AI chatbot" is probably telling customers that the best way to contact support is by carrier pigeon.

Meanwhile, your competitors are deploying LLMs that actually understand human language (revolutionary concept, I know).

GET AN LLM THAT DOESN'T EMBARRASS YOU

  • Deploy in 24 hours (not 24 millennia)

  • Actually understands context

  • Won't make people think your AI was trained by a goldfish

📱 TikTok Just Became an AI Video Factory

TikTok just dropped Symphony Creative Studio – their new AI video generation playground that's about to change everything.

Three new tools that'll blow your mind:

  1. Image-to-Video: Upload a photo, get a TikTok-style video

  2. Text-to-Video: Write a prompt, watch magic happen

  3. Showcase Products: Turn product photos into viral-ready content

The breakdown:

  • Designed specifically for brands and advertisers

  • Fully integrated with TikTok's ecosystem

  • WPP (giant ad agency) is already integrating it into their platform

  • This is basically Runway or Pika but built FOR TikTok

Hot take: This is TikTok's play to become the Adobe of social video. While everyone's fighting over ChatGPT, TikTok quietly built the future of content creation.

Smart marketers are already testing this. Dumb ones are still manually editing videos like it's 2019.

💼 LinkedIn Finally Made Job Search Not Suck

LinkedIn just dropped AI-powered job search that actually understands human language.

What's new:

  • You can search like "Find recent software engineer roles in Silicon Valley"

  • No more keyword gymnastics

  • Free for all users (shocking, I know)

  • Uses fine-tuned LLMs to understand context

Why this is huge: LinkedIn's old search was like asking a robot to find you love – technically possible, but you'd probably end up disappointed.

Now you can search like a human instead of like a corporate keyword bot.

And if your website chatbot is still asking people to "press 1 for English," you know what to do. 👆

Stay curious (and slightly caffeinated),

P.S. - I'm genuinely curious: What's the weirdest thing AI has helped you with this week? Hit reply and tell me. I read every response (my AI assistant reads them, but I trained it to have good taste).

Drop us a line at [email protected] - we actually read every email (yes, even the ones asking if AI will become self-aware. Looking at you, Dave!)
